About Me

Helmut Langeder

I’m Helmut Langeder, a Fine Artist. Born in Austria, I moved to Canada in 1954 and developed a deep passion for the Quebec landscape and oil painting.
As a self-taught artist, I had minimal formal training, with only a few sessions at the Sadie Bronfman Centre and guidance from Chui Wang. I also explored watercolor techniques with Jacques Hébert.
Inspired by the French Impressionists, the Canadian Group of Seven, and artists like Emile A. Gruppe, Maurice Cullen, and Clarence Gagnon, I have built a strong reputation in fine arts.
Over the years, I have shared my knowledge through workshops and studio courses, helping other artists grow.

Achievements & Recognition:

  • Member of Society of Canadian Artists (SCA)
  • Member of Lakeshore Association of Artists (LAA)
  • 2008 - First Prize, SCA National Online Show
  • 2011 - First Prize, National Painting Contest, Baie-Saint-Paul
